Who are we a good fit for?
We are looking for the person who is highly pro-active and autonomous. We won’t tell you what to do, we will tell you what we want to achieve.
We want to entrust you one of the core parts of our solution – set of APIs responsible for betting. You will have a wide flexibility and freedom in making the decisions and building the processes as long as they satisfy all stakeholders needs. In exchange for this, we expect reliable plans and commitments, healthy team, and product that meets high standards. You will work together with Delivery Manager and R&D Manager and can count on their support and help with tricky questions.
During your work activities, you will play a so-called Servant Leader role for a couple of teams inside one of the DraftKings units. The unit is deeply integrated into the company’s structure, so your day-to-day work will include interactions with people all around the company and requires mature skills in communication and planning. This is perfect environment for your professional growth.
REQUIREMENTS
Analytical mindset, logical thinking, and common sense are the first things we are looking for.
Good understanding of the Agile methodology and its principles. Knowing the things is not enough. You must understand why they are in place.
Experience of playing a Scrum Master role.
Basic understanding of web-applications domain. You have to be familiar on a high level with the following concepts: client-server architecture, API, HTTP protocol, microservices.
Good understanding of SDLC.
Experience in managing expectations and providing reliable timeframes to stakeholders.
Experience in managing dependencies between several teams.
Ability to work under pressure and with changing priorities.
Good level of written and spoken English (upper intermediate and above).
Would be a plus:
Engineering experience.
Responsibilities:
Playing a Scrum Master role for a couple of Scrum teams (6-8 people each): lead all Scrum ceremonies, monitor the metrics, write follow-ups, facilitate the development process using the best practices of the Agile methodology.
Scope and schedule management. You are focal point for team plans and commitments.
Monitor the teams’ health. Help to develop people’s soft skills.
Communication management, both internal and external; remove blockers; resolve conflicts.
Increase the efficiency of team work and cross-team collaboration.
Assist other units; manage incoming requests etc.
Facilitate the continuous improvement.
