Data Engineer / E-Commerce project (offline)

Our customer plays a significant role in the construction industry. Their large-scale SAP Hybris-based web project was started in 2012 and still goes on with continuous implementation and improvements. The solutions include powder-actuated fastening, drilling and demolition, diamond coring and cutting, measuring, firestop, screw fastening, adhesive and mechanical anchoring, and strut and hanger systems. Every product is backed with world-class research, software, service, and support.

Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience (3 + years) in Data Engineering (deep expertise in data modeling and structuring, experience in high volume data environments);
- Strong knowledge of AWS;
- Work experience with Redshift, Amazon SageMaker, Athena and Glue;
- Proficiency in a programming language - Python (especially Pandas and NumPy libraries);
- Understanding of traditional DB platforms like Business Warehouse, SQL, DB2 etc.;
- Upper-Intermediate and higher spoken/written English;
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information systems with 5+ years experience with advanced data management platform (e.g., Hadoop, AWS Redshift, Google cloud platform);
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Analyze & profile data to design scalable solutions;
- Help the team troubleshoot complex data issues & perform root cause analysis to proactively resolve product & operational issues;
- Implement data models & data structures needed for each use case as defined by the scrum team, in the most convenient format to be used by the end-user (e.g. Data Scientist/Insight Manager);
- Implement complex automated workflows and routines using workflow scheduling tools;
- Build continuous integration, test-driven development, and production deployment frameworks;
- Participate in collaborative reviews of design, code, test plans, and dataset implementations performed to support the team in maintaining the best data engineering standards;
- It requires you to work independently, focus on simplicity, agility with decision-making stakeholders and act as a sparring partner to other team members.
