Junior Big Data Software Engineer (Python) (offline)

About the vacancy

Our client is a UK-based FinTech company. As one of the most extensive European merchant services they provide service to 70k+ customers. The BigData specialist will work on building a data platform (in Google Cloud) to collect, transform, and store data to get future business insights and analyses. The engineer we are looking for will join the distributed team of 10+ people, extend the platform’s functionality, integrate new data providers, and perform infrastructure management.

Responsibilities
- Work on the data platform's core
- Integrate new data providers
- Implement ETL functionality using Google Cloud Functions
- Implement and support the infrastructure (Docker, Terraform, Cloud Build)

Must have
- Basic theoretical knowledge of Big Data and related technologies: RDBMS, NoSQL, Consistency (ACID, BASE), OLAP and OLTP, massive parallel processing, and data warehousing
- Intermediate level in Python
- Intermediate level in data platforms (RDBMS). Understanding of relational model, basic databases concepts, and components
- Experience with one relational database at least

Would be a plus
- Experience with GCP (Cloud functions, Storage, BigQuery)
- Experience with Snowflake
