DevOps Engineer (offline) $4500-5500

DUTIES
DevOps engineer provides efficient, stable, secure and resilient operation of our infrastructure and platform.
Develop, maintain and improve SDLC automation as well as monitoring of platform stability and performance.


KEY EXPECTATIONS
Maintain highly-available, scalable and responsive operation of our infrastructure and platform
Make sure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
Working on ways to fully automate and improve development, testing and release processes



RESPONSIBILITIES

Infrastructure management
Follow “Infrastructure as code” principle and fully automate infrastructure management
Maintain ability to spin up new isolated environments
Make sure we maintain high availability and resilient to infrastructure outages
Automate scaling and failure recovery processes
Limit and monitor access to infrastructure resources
Keep infrastructure up to date with the latest stable updates
Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization

Data management
Maintain backup and recovery strategies for critical customer’s data, do regular test runs of data recovery
Make sure customer’s data is secure and isolated from unauthorized access
Make sure we compliant with CCPA

Security
Perform automated security and vulnerability scans on regular basis
Implement and maintain industry best practices in secret management
Keep an eye on the latest security updates and keep our infrastructure up to date with them

SDLC
Setup and maintain CI and test automation
Continuous delivery automation that enable deployments with zero downtime in any environment
Ability to rollback failed product versions
Manage Github account including repos, teams and access management
Github \ Jira \ Zendesk automation management
Collaborate with engineering professionals within the company to make sure that local dev environments are stable and as close to the real ones as possible

Monitoring and reporting
Maintain public StatusPage configuration and automation
Setup and maintain monitoring, log and error reporting systems
Maintain internal Infrastructure Health Dashboard, keep it up to date with all new infrastructure resources
Performance and availability monitoring for our platform with automated health checks
Establish notification channels for critical failures
Maintain a complete record of all infrastructure and external systems we use with associated costs


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

At lest 4+ years of DevOps engineering experience
Linux\UNIX administration experience
Strong knowledge of bash\sh
Docker \ Kubernetes experience
AWS cloud experience, including networking, ECS\EKS, autoscaling, SQS, API gateway and lambda functions
Practical experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
Practical CI \ CD setup and maintenance experience
Experience with web server setup, configuration and troubleshooting (uwsgi, unicorn, puma, nginx)
PostgreSQL maintenance experience
Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures

Excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
Good problem solving skills, be good at picking up a new challenge on a daily basis, figuring things out on your own or with others, and then bringing rigor and thoughtfulness to the solution
Good attention to details
Good teamworking and communication skills
