Backend UI Designer (offline)

Headquartered in Estonia, we run offshore R&D centers in Kyiv and Lviv. Our team is 50% remote and distributed. We specialize in flexible interaction exclusively with international clients (we cover industries from commercial aviation to fintech) thanks to a multinational support group of experts and management.

Currently, we are looking for a Backend UI Designer.

Project: We are going through the modernisation process of our internal backend platforms and are looking for a UI Designer who will have a crucial input on the platforms’ look & feel.
We are after a designer who puts the accessibility and good user experience above the latest design trends. We would like to hire someone who appreciates the simplicity of the design and follows the principle of ‘less is more’. You will be a self starter, a hands on person who is eager to roll up their sleeves and get things done. We are excited about the modernisation process we are going through and hope that you will be too!

What responsibilities & tasks will wait for you?
— To create a Design Guide that will cover the look and feel of multiple platforms;
— To establish a single Design System that will cover multiple platforms;
— To assist the UX designer in the delivery of the design solutions (by assembling the mock-ups for the usability testing);
— To handover the design solutions to the dev team.

What skills/qualities are required:
— At least 3 years of experience as a UI Designer;
— Experience of creating the Design Systems for complex tools/platforms;
— Experience of working with front-end developers;
— Familiarity with CSS, HTML, React and a good knowledge of Material Design/UI & Bootstrap framework/components;
— Familiarity with Web Accessibility principles;
— Understanding of the importance of the UX design and its relationship to the UI;
— Expert knowledge in Figma and/or other industry standard design software;
— Excellent initiative, self-motivation, organisational and problem solving skills;
— Professional level of English;
— Graphic design skills: sketching, wire framing and storyboarding abilities on paper and screen;
— An understanding of UI conventions and challenges for different mobile screens;
— An excellent understanding of the full pipeline for getting UI assets into a game engine;
— Expertise with Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite and adobe XD;
— Great skills with form and typography;
— A portfolio showing your skills in color, composition, clarity and usability;
— Aware of current and upcoming design and typographical trends;
— Ability to multi-task and to adapt easily to change;
— Ability to grasp new concepts and tools quickly.

Will be a plus:
— Good understanding on how to break down the complex designs into components;
— Degree in an associated field: Front-end development, Interaction Design, HCI or similar;
— Experience, knowledge or interest in gaming industry.

Work Schedule:
You can work from 9 am till 6 pm or from 10 am till 7 pm.
