Senior Node/Java Engineer (offline)

On Behalf of client, AgileEngine is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us build the next generation of products for client, and scale to an even larger audience. You will play a critical part in defining and building a fault-tolerant, scalable, and well-designed application.

What is required?

● You have 5+ years building resilient systems used in an enterprise environment, maintaining a strong commitment to code quality
● Very strong understanding of REST APIs, and use of third party APIs
● You have strong experience working with SQL databases (we use Postgres). You’re comfortable writing lengthy raw SQL with many joins, inner queries, views, type casting, JSONB, etc
● Strong experience with coding in Java as well (we use standard J2EE-oriented stack: Spring, Hibernate, etc.)
● Basic knowledge of Node.js and ability to learn it if needed
● Experience troubleshooting issues (in test environments and production)
● Experience with cloud hosted infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP, etc)
● At least basic familiarity with linux command line (SSH, cat, tail, ps, etc)

Will be a plus

● Experience with Microsoft Teams API
● Experience with Slack API
● Experience with Docker and Dokku
● Experience with frontend javascript (we use Angular), css, html

What you will do

● Architect, build, iterate and manage Lead applications
● Influence every aspect of the the development process from API creation, design, and the final product
● Work directly with the founders, and have a large amount of independence and personal responsibility
● Own important pieces of the product that has high visibility both internally and externally
● Find simple, elegant solutions to hard problems
