Senior DevOps (early hours) (offline) $5000-7500

Required skills:
• Expert knowledge of AWS key services and operations
• Expert Knowledge of the Kubernetes ecosystem (as administrator)
• Expert knowledge of terraform
• Expert knowledge of at least one programming language
• Advanced knowledge of Linux and shell scripting
• Experience with Kafka
• Solid understanding of networking and security
• Experience implementing infrastructure and service monitoring and alerting
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (eg Gitlab, Bitbucket, CI, TeamCity, Octopus)
• Collaborative team player
• Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills
• Ability to manage time effectively

DIRECT REPORTS & MAJOR COLLABORATORS
• This role reports into the Engineering Manager, Platform team
• You will collaborate closely with Product Development Teams
• You will collaborate with engineers and business users across the organisation

You will be measured on:
• Effectiveness in implementing platform and DevOps initiatives
• Effectiveness in helping developers increase productivity
• Contribute to reducing technical debt and identify areas of improvement
• Help maintain a high percentage of stories completed vs stories committed to at beginning of sprint

Responsibilities:
• Deploy and maintain infrastructure as code to meet business requirements
• Implement monitoring and alerting covering infrastructure and services
• Be proactive in by identifying gaps, prioritizing and making suggestions
• Design and build deployment pipelines in collaboration with development teams
• Recommend and assist with architectural changes to improve performance and reliability
• Explore new technologies and share your findings with the engineering team
• Work in a team with a “team first” mentality
• Perform effective code reviews and help in coaching junior DevOps engineers
• Educate developers about tools and practices
