Architect Python / Django (offline)

Our Client is a global leader in media and entertainment services for film, video and online content.

Requirements

- Proven track record as a software development leader with 6+ years of experience managing teams of 10 or more
- Expertise in coding concepts and best practices across languages
- Experience in developing large scale consumer applications, specifically in the field of media management, content delivery and streaming
- 10+ years of hands-on experience as an engineer with involvement in architecture, design, and implementation across many disparate technologies from the back-end through the front-end
- 8+ years of Python development experience
- 5+ years of Django Framework experience
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization from senior executives to entry-level engineers
- Deep understanding of web application best practices and git development flow
- Expert in scalable database design and POSTGRES
- Experience with application development using docker containers
- Experience in building and supporting RESTful APIs with the Django rest framework and token authentication
- Experience with async and scheduled tasks using REDIS
- Experience with python WebSocket communication and Django Channels
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS and GCE
- Experience with containerized microservices and serverless architectures
- Experience with distributed systems and related concepts
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL datastores
- Understanding of the Full stack of the application and experience with HTML/CSS/JS and Jinja templating language
- Driven, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
- Focused, dependable, detail-oriented and hands-on – completes tasks quickly and thoroughly
- Excellent work ethics and communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal

Desired Experience
Experience working in the digital media industry, including multiple facets of the digital media supply chain including production, post-production, and distribution.

Responsibilities

- Contributing to cutting-edge R&D initiatives including service integration with emerging frameworks and platforms
- Assisting with technical resolution of issues on mission critical production systems (you build it, you own it, you run it)
- Thinking out of the box to come up with solutions that scale, are fault-tolerant, easy to grasp and elegant
- Support and anticipate developer needs – you will be their go-to person for questions and support
- Partner with product management and operations to create and evangelize a world-class media services platform
