.Net/Azure Team Lead/ Architect (offline)

Dealing directly and working through brokers, its global client base consists of insurance companies, mid-to-large-sized corporations, and public sector clients.

As Platform Engineer you will be part of the SmartClaims team, with the goal to drive technological developments that we hope can help transform the re/insurance industry.

You are familiar with technology and cloud design patterns as much as you are with its culture and business models. You have gained experience in several cloud projects and have deployed at least one cloud-based application of relevant size to production. You know what is possible today and keep an eye on what is brewing in the scene, so you have your idea of what may become possible soon as well. You have a deep understanding of event-driven, horizontal and message-oriented architectures

Your main tasks are:

Develop complex and highly scalable microservices-based applications in a cloud platform that surprises and delights
Build prototypes to verify that the architecture correctly links the functional requirements and the quality attributes with the proposed technical solution
Functional, unit, integration, and load testing of developed code
Ability to turn mathematical models into high scalable code


Requirements
Proven experience as an architect and developer
Experience in cloud applications and a cloud platform design (preferably MS Azure)
Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies (including open source), business drivers, and emerging computing trends
You have successfully deployed at least one cloud-based application of a relevant size to the production
Able to set and lead the technical vision while balancing business drivers and imperatives to help partners build profitable cloud businesses
Willing to stay abreast of technological developments in the IT sector and especially cloud technologies
Client-centric mindset
Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English
Technical Competencies

Ability to write scalable and rock-solid code in a cloud environment
Multiple years of experience with C#/.NET Core, experience in other languages such as Python and JavaScript is a plus
Experience with asynchronous programming models
Familiar with containers and orchestration
In depth-know how of RESTful/API, you have a deep understanding of REST and how the server-side API needs to be designed to ensure that the API remains efficient throughout the various project phases
Undergone complete SDLC with application development
You are familiar with protocols such as HTTP(S) and message-based protocols, for example, AMQP, protobuf, etc.
Familiar with SQL and document-oriented storage
Familiar with DevOps principles

Significant depth of technical experience in a number of the following Azure services and technologies: Service Fabric, Kubernetes, App Services, EventHubs, Azure Search, Redis Cache, Application Insights, Service Bus, CDN, API Management, Azure Storage, Azure CosmosDB, Azure SQL, Docker
