The Tax Department Project Assistant will work under the supervision of the City5
Affordable Housing HPD Compliance Manager to participate in the application
preparation and filing of various tax benefit programs. The role will be
responsible for the review of application documentation.

The Tax Department Project Assistant will work under the supervision of the City5
Affordable Housing HPD Compliance Manager to participate in the application
preparation and filing of various tax benefit programs. The role will be
responsible for the review of application documentation and application
packet assembly for submission. Strong candidates for this position should be a
tech-savvy and detail-oriented individual with advanced knowledge of Office
suite ( including Outlook, Excel, and Word), Dropbox, and Google Drive.
Key Responsibilities
Upon training, the project assistant will be mainly responsible for:
● Prepare and draft opinion letters
● Review and provide affordable/market unit mix analysis
● Calculate rents for affordable units based on utilities and Area Median
Income (AMI)
● Prepare and draft various documents related to the application filing,
including workbook, documents needed for the application, marketing
plans, etc.
● Prepare and assemble application packets
● Prepare and record Restrictive Declaration on ACRIS
● Monitor project progress for outstanding document/payment due
● Prepare and submit Notice of Intention
● Maintain quarterly records for rent roll and prepare quarterly compliance
reports for existing projects.
● Additional duties may be assigned.
Basic Requirements
● Associate degree or equivalent experience in the field
● Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written
● Strong organizational and administrative skills
● Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines
in a fast-paced professional environment
● High attention to details and accuracy

● Knowledge of PC, office suite (including Outlook, Excel, and Word),
Adobe PDF, Dropbox, and Google Drive.
● Comfortable and productive working independently
● Show commitment to professionalism in the workplace, and show respect
and maintain a professional attitude.
Other Qualifications
● 1-2 years of experience in a professional fast-paced working environment
● Knowledge of tax and real estate terminology
● Previous experience using case management or client relationship
systems
