Required skills
• At least 3+ years’ experience in Scala development (or strong .Net experience with some recent commercial experience in Scala)
• Scala experience building back-end micro-services that run using Mesos, Marathon, Docker
• Experience building REST / JSON based endpoints
• Working knowledge of Apache Spark, Cassandra, or Elastic Search at scale
• Linux background (Ubuntu or RHEL)
• Experience in building distributed solutions
• Possibility to demonstrate technical responsibility for large service design and implementation.
• Ability to pull tasks from the backlog rather than waiting for a push
• Upper-Intermediate level of English
• Ability to work as a part of an international team spanning several time zones

• Design, development, deployment, and support of web applications, REST & GraphQL APIs based on high-level requirements
• Design and development of data models, data model optimizations, writing data migrations and ETL pipelines
• Auditing the quality of work, optimizing system performance, writing tests, documenting APIs and pipelines

Edvantis opens the position of a Middle Scala developer in order to extend the project of our partner, a US-based data analytics company that serves companies operating in the hydrocarbon industry, especially those focused on exploration and production activities. Its product portfolio includes data sets, reports, alerts, analytics tools, databases, data management tools, and expert advisory, among other services designed to track, analyze and distribute information about onshore oil and gas drilling activities, giving its clients a complete perspective of the sector in the investment decision-making process. Customer develops a large ecosystem of products related to that domain including complex data storages and pipelines, web, mobile, and desktop.
Edvantis engineers work together with customer engineers on various projects. One of these projects — security-related web application.
