DevOps Engineer (offline)

Below is a description of the daily work of such an IT expert. The first part is more interesting, the second part is more administrative.
• Provision / maintain our Openstack worker and management nodes, underlying hardware, load balance the cluster, scale the cluster if needed, provision MemSQL clusters on top
• Provision / maintain our VMware cluster and nodes, underlying hardware, load balance the cluster, monitor its performance metrics and health
• Manage inventory of datacenter hardware (Servers, storage, network equipment)
• Utilize and improve our Terraform & Ansible based automation to more efficiently provision new server and network equipment end-to-end
• Coordinate with technicians and 3rd party providers to arrive on-site for hardware maintenance on our equipment
• Manage addition of new compute capacity to our racks, including passive infrastructure (cabling) , provisioning servers, disks, storage equipment, switches and routing if needed.
• Maintain and scale of CEPH distributed block storage and our HP / 3PAR / Hitachi SAN storage system
• Work with our various datacenter vendor support teams, open tickets, book scheduled maintenance work — HP, PurePeak, EMC, IBM, Hitachi
