Middle/Senior PHP Developer (Online Streaming Service - Viaplay) (offline)

Together with the team, you will play a central role in building advanced integrations between our different systems throughout the organization.

We have a dedicated team on our side that is responsible for requirements clarification, development, quality, and release of final features and products.

CUSTOMER

Our client is ViaPlay, a group’s premium online video streaming service and a leading on-demand streaming service in the Nordics. The company offers the most popular TV series, a vast international movie catalogue and a world-class selection of live sports events including Premier League, Champions League, and NHL.

PROJECT

You will be a part of a Viaplay project, an online video streaming service. It offers subscription and transactional video on demand services. In other words, users of the service can either purchase access to content through a monthly subscription or rent and buy movies.

The project allows working with various technologies, development practices as well as experimenting with modern approaches. All architecture decisions and development are upon us. You will also be able to communicate with the client directly.

Product consists of multiple applications, some of them are monoliths, some are microservices. All of the applications are using AWS cloud ecosystem.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Build advanced integrations between our different systems throughout the organization
- Participate in technical meetings with cross-functional teams, product owners, and designers to design and ship new features and enhancements
- Responsible for all stages of development from initial architecture to implementation
- Build quality solutions to always deliver the best experience possible to our users
- Provide support for other developers with code review and mentoring.
- Implement best coding practices
- Perform code reviews, write unit and integration tests
- Create and update product information based on various forms of input for new and existing products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Results driven and able to complete tasks on time

REQUIREMENTS

- At least 3 years of experience developing web applications with PHP and JavaScript
- Good knowledge and experience with PHP and PHP MVC Frameworks
- Good OOP and design patterns knowledge
- Knowledge of MySQL or other SQL based databases with the ability to write and understand complex queries for normalized databases
- Experience with JavaScript, HTML and CSS, as well as JavaScript Libraries (e.g. jQuery, Angular, React)
- Upper-Intermediate level of spoken and written English
WOULD BE A PLUS:
- Experience with NodeJS
- AWS: Elastic Beanstalk, SNS, RDS, S3, CloudFormation
- Experience with Docker, CI (Jenkins)
