Team Lead of Cloud Platform Engineers (DevOps) (offline)

Requirements:

- System thinking, ability to act proactively
- Deep understanding of Software Development lifecycle
- Proficient understanding of Git and Git flow
- Experience with one of the programming languages (preferable script languages such as JS, Ruby, Python, Go, PHP). You should be ready to learn new ones very fast
- Experience with virtualization and containerization
- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable and highly available application
- Understanding networking on different levels(Understanding model OSI)
- Experience with application & infrastructure monitoring in a production environment
- Understanding how to build “secure by default” infrastructure
- Intermediate English
- Great communication skills

Will be a plus:

- Bash / PowerShell / Perl / Python / JS
- AWS / GC / Azure
- Terraform
- NewRelic / Prometheus / DataDog / Splunk / Zabbix / ELK / EFK
- Knowledge of Microservices Architecture pattern
- Experience with CI / CD systems such as Jenkins, TeamCity, Drone.io, etc.
- Experience with Docker orchestration systems (Kubernetes, swarm, etc.)
- Linux OS administration
- Experience with RDBMS (MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres)
- Excellent knowledge of load balancing / reverse proxy patterns, for example, Nginx & HTTP / s requests routing through web-servers
- Understanding of Agile (SAFE, SCRUM)

Responsibilities:

The primary mission of this position is to enable development teams to focus on the business needs. It means that everything related to the infrastructure should be automated and “ready to go” at the exact moment when it is needed for the business. Moreover, the Flow from dev to production should be improved on a continuous basis to achieve maximum possible dev and deploy speed for features and capabilities. At the same time, the responsibility is to ensure that all production environments are stable and secure during their lifetime.

Major challenges:

- Continuously and proactively evolve the infrastructure ecosystem within the company to ensure a growing level of the system’s stability, security and developers experience
- Educate members of the infrastructure team, as well as keeping knowledge about the ecosystem of 15+ development teams on the needed level
- Write and review a lot of infrastructure code. We are following “infrastructure as code” principle so the majority of the team outcome will be reflected as a code in various git repositories
- Decrease the number of incidents to a minimum. Night sleep of several hundred people will literally depend on you
- Continuously negotiate to achieve compromises between the ops and development teams
- Understand and influence the system architecture
