Maintenance Engineer (offline)

Mirantis Maintenance team is looking for an engineer with expertise in Linux, SaltStack and Python to join us as an OpenStack Maintenance Engineer. In this role, you'll maintain already shipped releases of Mirantis Cloud Platform by creating updates to Mirantis Cloud Platform components to improve security, performance, data consistency, usability and other aspects of production OpenStack environments. You will work closely with Development, QA, Services and Support teams to provide the best user experience for Mirantis Cloud Platform customers.
Job responsibilities:
Develop and backport patches for Mirantis Cloud Platform components, including OpenStack
Reproduce, investigate and fix technical issues in OpenStack and Mirantis Cloud Platform
Develop SaltStack formulas to deploy maintenance updates to Mirantis Cloud Platform clusters
Maintain deployment automation of already shipped releases of Mirantis Cloud Platform
Work closely with development engineering, assist support and professional services engineers
Requirements:
3+ years of experience as a system administrator or a DevOps engineer
Good knowledge of Python
Good system administration and automation skills in Linux
Experience with HA and relevant tools, such as keepalived, HAProxy
Experience with git, gerrit or other distributed version control and review systems
Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues quickly in a Linux-based environment
Good written communication skills in English
Would be a plus:
Spoken English
Software development experience with Python
Experience of working with Ansible, Puppet, Corosync, Pacemaker.
Experience with OpenStack and cloud computing
Experience with common messaging platforms, such as RabbitMQ or ZeroMQ
Understanding of software development and release management process
Linux networking experience
Virtualization experience
