Senior AQA Engineer (offline)

Our client is a fast-growing fintech company based in Tokyo. The company offers its real-time monthly consolidated credit service all across Japan. Our client started Japan’s first instant post-pay credit service for e-commerce customers in October 2014. The main product is an online payment platform which requires no pre-registration or credit card to use; via this service, the customers can purchase products online using only a mobile phone number and email address and settle a single monthly bill for all their purchases, either at a convenience store, by bank transfer or auto-debit. Customers can use credit funds during a month and then return the balance to zero without paying credit interests. This service also supports multi-pay instalments and subscriptions.
There are currently over 4 million accounts in use. This service got the largest investment to date in the Japanese financial tech industry, including PayPal Ventures investment.

Client company works on creating industry-standard Testing capabilities, with Test automation framework, Manual Test case repository, automating tests using CI Pipeline capability, etc. with technically qualified engineers to meet the growing demand. The role of the AQA Engineer who should have an engineering mindset and futuristic approach is to support building all of these capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, update and maintain tests in the existing Automation framework and Manual Test repository;
- Create update and follow up issues, defects and clarifications within and outside QA team;
- Run regression tests and track results on demand in a standardized way;
- Ensure the requirements traceability of tests created by the team;
- Participate in QA Sprint meetings to plan and prioritize test activities;
- Constantly learn and suggest improvements within the team;
- Work with new industry-standard test tools on a trial basis and make recommendations to the team on improvement areas.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in cross-functional and cross-cultural environments;
- Experience in testing with one or multiple high-level languages (e.g. Scala, Python, Ruby, …);
- Experience in working with cloud-based environments;
- Ability to learn and teach the best practices;
- Being passionate about hunting down issues, or even better, foreseeing them;
- Interest in learning new things and lack of fear to jump into any solutions support;
- Ability to take care of correctness through tests as well as performance through benchmarks;
- Upper-Intermediate level of English.

WILL BE A PLUS:
- Experience in working with security-sensitive environments;
- Experience in testing API based financial systems.
