Requirements:
Work experience in the gaming industry for 3+ years in a similar position.
A portfolio that reflects:
- excellent command of different styles, the ability to work with composition, shape, colour and lighting;
- a good understanding of the principles of developing mobile game interfaces.
Ability to conduct Art direction, managing a team of artists, understanding the language of game designers, developing concepts for games or mini-games.
Responsibilities:
Team formation:
Participation in the formation of an art team for the Games Division;
Participation in the search for outsourcing artists, control of their work and replacement of artists at the request of a partner or due to their own decision.
Planning and project management:
Studying the details of the project before starting the project;
Distribution of tasks between internal specialists and outsource specialists;
Participation in a kick-off meeting;
Help and problem-solving in the team related to the artistic and technical component of the project;
If necessary, participate in calls with a partner, or other specialists on project issues;
Quality control:
Pre-production;
Development of technical specifications, creation of project guides or checking existing ones for all the necessary details for work;
Determination and control of the sending format: style, naming;
Production;
Explaining the task to each performer of the project team, ensuring a unified understanding of the essence of the task;
Source quality control;
Post-production;
Providing feedback on the work of team members.
Project evaluation:
Review of technical specifications, briefs, project guides;
Drafting clarifying questions for a correct assessment;
Estimation of time to work for a team with given seniors.
Development of the art direction of the project, on projects where the client requires it:
Build references from competitors' top-grossing games;
Development of fake screens to demonstrate the proposed style;
Discussion with the client of the provided option, "pitching" of the proposed idea.
Work on projects:
Creation of 2D art from sketches to finalization according to the approved pipeline;
Making edits to the work on feedback from the lead artist, project manager, partner;
Participation in planning your own project load.
