Senior Backend Engineer (Java+Python) (offline)

Requirements:
Good knowledge of Java, Spring/Spring Boot
Backend experience with Python
Knowledge and experience with DevOPS/infrastructure as code, databases, performance optimization, application design, and networking - especially application layer protocols like HTTP, SFTP, SMTP
Knowledge and practical experience with AWS stack: EBT, EC2, Kinesis, Lambda, etc
Experience working with CI/CD tools (such as CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.)
Ability to work independently to deliver well-designed, high-quality code on time.
English - upper intermediate / advanced

Would be a plus:
Experience with telephony systems (IVR, Twilio)
Experience with Netty/NIO
Understanding and hands-on experience with Kubernetes
Experience with gRPC or similar modern serialization/rpc libraries
Understanding and practical knowledge of continuous integration/delivery methods
Open source projects on GitHub
Experience in Kotlin, Ruby
Experience building and debugging distributed systems, and with large scale low latency, high throughput services
Experience successfully working with distributed teams across time zones


Responsibilities:
Contribute to core VGS products - help to improve existing products and develop/architect new ones.
Support production deployments.
Participate in CI/CD engineering and processes.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code high quality and shared knowledge
Maintain high culture of code - rigorous testing and automation. Improve test coverage of code that you do not own
