Scrum Master (offline)

Based in London, our customer is a global leading law research, ranking and directories business, ranking 'elite' (top 5%) law firms and lawyers in over 200 jurisdictions across the world. The company is the 'Michelin guide' of the legal world, and law firms invest considerable time and effort into achieving a ranking. The company is around 30 years old, in 2018 it was purchased by a private equity house with a view to modernizing and growing the business substantially. This includes digital transformation of all the corporate processes and flows, which will be our main goal for the short and medium-term.
Customer's strategy is to transform from being a print-based publishing business, with advertising as prime revenue, to an online subscription business with data insight, ranking directories and differentiated content at its core. This means moving from a largely anonymous audience to one that is known, and thus building strategic customer platforms and products of the future.

As a Scrum Master, your main goals will be to improve productivity, efficiency and motivation/morale of the development teams you will serve. The candidate for this position must be an expert (through vast experience) in agile/scrum process, be hands-on at removing blockers, protecting and coaching the team, and in implementing continuous value add improvements. You should be someone who embraces and embodies Agile values and principles and has the ability to coach individuals and teams to put them into practice effectively.

Responsibilities:
Facilitating the Scrum process of planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives with team and Product Owner
Proactively removing impediments to progress, ideally foreseeing them and dealing with them before they impact the team
Coaching teams and individuals on Agile values, principles and best practices
Closely monitoring the levels of team members’ motivation/morale/engagement and working with management on maintaining this at a high level
Defining and refining Agile metrics to understand team performance with a view to helping them to continually improve it over time
Working with management and other Agile Project Leaders to identify and implement organization-wide process improvements
Focusing more on valuable outcomes & results, rather than process for the sake of process
Serving and supporting teams in ensuring clarity and transparency with tools such as JIRA and Confluence

Requirements:
3+ years experience as a Scrum Master, using Agile software development methodologies, including Scrum, Lean and/or Kanban
Experience in Scrum processes establishment with further tuning for optimal performance
Strong presentation and communication skills
Good skills in decision making, leadership, team building and motivating, as well as cultural awareness, with understanding of servant leadership and ability to lead by example
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Self-starter, who likes to take on new challenges and make progress despite obstacles
Having PM experience
Upper-intermediate or advanced level of English

Nice to have:
You are a certified Scrum-Master
Having an engineering/technical background will be big advantage
