On behalf of Indeed, AgileEngine is looking for a Middle Data Operations Analyst to develop back-end solutions for the internal Indeed products. The ideal candidate's prior work experience reflects high standards for engineering with proven capabilities. The candidate possesses the ability to take on important business challenges and execute them with precision and quality.

This particular project implies working with an awesome data-driven company on a great mission with the ability to make a huge difference in how decisions are made, by applying the latest technologies in data science and engineering.

What is required?

● 3+ years experience in data health management, data assurance, including automating data quality validation, cleanup and optimization
● Significant practical experience with SQL
● Working experience in using ETL tools like DBT or PipelineWise
● Practical experience using Python or Scala for data assurance
● Hands-on experience in Google Big Query
● Ability to work with Product Management to define priorities
● Excellent analytical and time management skills
● Upper-Intermediate English

What will be a plus?

● RedShift, Snowflake columnar databases
● Experience in using Tableau or other BI tool (Looker, Power BI)
● BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

Data Health Checks:
- Implement data health checks for all EDA ETL jobs – both EL and T
- Establish success criteria for each critical ETL – reflecting stakeholder, EDA subject matter expert and data governance perspectives
- Create queries to check success and raise alert if issue found
- Leverage existing data checks and tooling as appropriate
- Optimize data checks to clearly identify and highlight issues and minimize confusion from alerts
- Work with other teams to optimize data checks to be meaningful and actionable
- Implement automated monitoring for trends that may indicate future issues
Continually optimize the most frequently failing jobs

ETL and SQL Optimization:
- Optimize poorly performing SQL
- Continually optimize highest cost jobs ($ or time consuming)
- Develop documentation for knowledge sharing as needed
- Partner with EDA colleagues on design and development projects as needed

Communication:
- Communicate data health or availability issues to the affected business stakeholders using provided templates. Provide intraday updates as appropriate, including related tickets
- Establish a dashboard for monitoring ETL jobs
- Transition manual data checks to automated, including intelligent thresholds for data check monitoring
- Develop and update documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides as needed
