About the client

Our client aims to provide a better insurance solution, combining intelligent hardware with simple, clear and inexpensive insurance products. Started in 2019 as a corporate startup, the company focuses on home owner and renter insurance, building B2C and B2B products for the swiss market.

Company's goal is to change the business model of an insurance company. Instead of reacting to damages occurred, they focus on intelligent prevention. Our client wants their users to experience real peace of mind, through technology that does not require any effort nor sparks privacy concerns.

All their products are developed from a digital and InsurTech perspective. The company does not try to improve existing products, but create them on a greenfield.

Our client's team consists of 5 people with backgrounds in technology, UX, Insurance, marketing and business building. The team works typically in their office in Lucerne, however they are used to remote work and near-shore teams. Collaboration is ensured using agile approaches (daily scrum, 2-week sprints, 6-week retros), frequent interactions (Slack) and after work drinks (via Slack for remotely working team members).

With their corporate founder GVB – one of the largest building insurance companies in Switzerland – our client has a strong partner that provides expertise and distribution channels.


Requirements

- 3+ years of development experience with PHP, familiarity with PHP 7 (OOP)
- Experience with MVC Frameworks like Symfony / Laravel
- Experience with .NET / C# (highly desired)
- Familiarity with Git, Gitlab CI/CD
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design/ architectural patterns
- Experience with middle ware technology to implement a service-oriented application stack
- Familiarity with Microservices & Containerization technologies (Docker)
- Familiarity with PHP Unit testing, code versioning and agile methods
- Very good level of English
- Ambitious personality.


Nice to have

- Experience with Admin, Setup and Run of Azure
- Interest in IoT Hardware and API-based business models.
