Data Scientist with financial background (offline)

Job purpose:
Provide expertise and support in developing and deploying simple to complex analytical solutions such as predictive models, segmentation, and account management strategies solutions for clients across the Middle East, (especially GCC) region. Embed solutions in the client’s business strategy so as to help them drive income and meet P&L targets. Help Qarar delivers on various analytical engagements and meets annual targets.

Duties and responsibilities:
● Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets;
● Provide insight into the data through MIS and deeper analytics;
● Apply innovative analytical techniques to customer and transaction data to build risk mitigation and/or marketing strategies for clients;
● Apply subject matter expertise to the prioritization and planning of projects in line with the client’s expectation;
● Must be able to effectively provide updates and communicate key analyses to senior C-Level executives in a crisp and concise manner;
● Locate and define new process improvement opportunities;
● Support on the deployment of the key initiatives including manual scoring or implementation through any system;
● Provide thought leadership and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency by reviewing work processes from new perspectives;
● Regularly engage with clients to seek feedback and identify more business opportunity through meaningful discussions;

Qualifications:
● Hands-on experience of working on advanced analytics project including
Segmentation, model development (including validation & monitoring) for various stages of the credit life cycle – Acquisition, Account management, collections, and recovery;
● Exposure to banking product’s credit life cycle, use of Credit Bureau data in helping banks make lending and account management decisions;
● Experience with Risk management;
● Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy;
● Strong knowledge of statistics and experience of using statistical analyses to solve complex business problems. Knowledge and experience of advanced machine learning algorithm will be a plus;
● Must possess a willingness to learn, the ability to effectively communicate findings verbally & in written/presentation format and be able to deliver projects with minimal supervision;
● Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment balancing between both business and functional interactions and priorities;
● BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics;
● Hands-on experience of working on SAS, R, Python, FICO Model Builder, MS Office;
