Scrum Master/Project manager for a digital banking product (offline)

About the job

We are seeking a Scrum Master/Project manager for our new development team in Kiev. The SMis responsible for leading the team’s execution and delivery our platform releases.

The SM ensures complex requirements are discussed with technology ahead of time to ensure any architectural concerns are always voiced during the early stages of grooming.
The SM is responsible for ensuring technology carry the insights and knowledge forward into the sprint process, verbalising it with the wider engineering team, and ensuring that the engineers have a point of reference for any questions they may have during build, unblocking any issues that prevent the team from reaching their objective.
The SM works with the product owner to converts Confluence user stories and scenarios into a delivery plan with associated JIRA issues & sub-tasks, and thereafter is responsible for providing a single prioritised and groomed feature backlog for the Enterprise platform in JIRA.

In short, the position will be responsible for the following:
● Managing our scrum process within our product development teams;
● Removing impediments for our product development team;
● Arranging and driving our Agile ceremonies including: daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, backlog grooming, demo and decision-making meetings, etc.;
● Helping product owners to ensure the product backlogs are organized and ready for upcoming sprints;
● Conducting retrospective meeting;
● Organizing and facilitating all activities in release planning;
● Communicating project risks, demonstrable objectives to mitigate risks ensuring all actions are tracked and closed when resolved.
● Collecting, tracking and presenting development KPIs (velocity, effort allocations, etc)
● Maintain a real time dashboard of what every person in the organization is working on and communicate this to the CTO on a daily basis.

Critical Skills

● You've worked in a fast moving start-up environment.
● You can make changes on the fly even when monthly plans go completely out the window. This is a start-up and you need to be nimble.
● Excellent conflict resolution skills. Identifies and drives all conflict resolution. Identify, track and remove impediments.
● Experience in estimation and planning. Should know how to create useful, reliable and practical plans for complex development projects.
● You bring all the necessary project management experience to define the right processes without getting in the way of engineering.
● Ability to shield Scrum team from outside distractions and interferences.
● Ability to establish and track productivity metrics, KPIs, etc.
● Ability to Analyse current Agile processes, prioritize areas of improvement, and work alongside key stakeholders to implement the improvements
● You were an engineer that understands agile software methodologies
● You are adaptable and have a flexible process driven approach.
● Worked in a remote team environment. We are 100% globally distributed across different time zones.
● Very good English proficiency
● Experience in payments and general banking knowledge is a plus

Technical Skills

● Fluency in scrum workflow tools such as Jira and Confluence, including implementation, reporting and daily use.
● Good understanding iterative and incremental development including Continuous Integration, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, etc
● Strong knowledge and experience with Scrum process, ceremonies and practices.
● Knowledge and experience with writing User Stories.
● Define & track metrics and incremental delivery, monitoring and report on key Agile performance metrics to leadership team.

Experience & Qualification

● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required
● 3+ years of true Scrum Master experience.
● Experience managing software development projects using an Agile Scrum approach.
● Scrum Master (CSM) certification
● Ability to apply scrum estimation techniques to software development efforts
● 3 years experience with Jira or a similar tool
