The system is a big data solution that used for preparing trade analytics and regulatory reporting. The overall project is to design, create and deploy Tableau dashboards, data visualizations and reporting for our foreign exchange (FX) platform. The project is used by end-users for better analysis of large data sets and to help make better decisions. From technical perspective it is used Kafka, HDFS, Parquet, SQL, analytics based on Spark, Scala, SQL and Java, XML reporting as well as Tableau desktop and server; Impala and their big data components. We are looking for L3 support specialist/Developer with a wide skillset to be a part of the team that will support operations and troubleshoot notpurely for regulatory reporting but also cover support request across the big platform, of which reporting is a part. It is assumed standard working schedule assumed (Mon-Fri 8 am – 5 pm GMT) and on-call support 24*7 once per 2 weeks. On-call activities during public holidays and other out of business hours will be paid additionally based on the actual time spend with rate x 1.5 in accordance with on committed support hours.
Responsibilities
The L3 Support Engineer provides production support for software applications and works closely with the Development and Release Management practices to ensure code and design integrity of the fixes (hot fixes, patches).
- Provides Level 3 support for different system components (Kafka, HDFS, Parquet, SQL), analytics (Spark, Scala, SQL), reporting (Java, XML).
- Performs problem and root cause analysis for application production incidents and delivers the necessary resolution pack (. hotfixes, patches). This is a part of development work.
- Once there are no support activities participating in system development along with the main development team.
- Provide L3 Support and remediation on any issues by providing detailed code analysis of applications’ production platform. Remediate incidents/outages pertaining to the platform. Perform detailed technology analyses to highlight weaknesses and make recommendations for improvement.
- Conducts incident and problem management activities
- Be able to estimate time required to implement remediation actions.
- Support and contribute to all relevant documentation.
