The role

Our VP of Engineering will be responsible for ensuring that the product meets design requirements, and delivers a consistent experience for users. You’ll be managing an entire team of engineers and developers, collaborating with the product manager, as well as guiding the company’s product vision and maintaining compliance with quality standards. You will be asked to build/improve architecture, hire the right people, come up with solutions, instil and encourage agile processes, distribute tasks and act as a backend developer yourself too (in addition to other backend developers). You will be part of the leadership team based in Kyiv and join a fun fast moving software company + own shares of the British company.

Experience needed

Start-up culture
Solid understanding of SaaS business
Experience in managing development team – backend, frontend, QA, mobile, product
Strong knowledge of Java, SQL, MongoDB, REST, Kafka, Spring, AWS, Microservices, Kubernetes
Strong experience with Jira and task management/distribution
Desire to be leader and player – i.e. you will be doing backend coding too
Structured documentation approach
Strong organizational leadership skills
Extensive experience in hiring quality people
Must be knowledgeable about industry trends and best practices
Advanced English

Responsibilities of the role

Full responsibility for the development of the product
Developing standards and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met and consistent
Hiring and developing the team to ensure quality end product
Senior role leading the team of 6+ through management and mentorship
Working with Product Manager, CTO & CEO to define product roadmap and timelines
Communicating with third-party suppliers
