Senior C/C++ Developer (ID: 8785) (offline)
Job Summary and Duties
This position will highlight new product development, as well as feature development and bug fixing of existing products serving the expanding big data, replication, and file systems market. This position is required to be well rounded in operating system including all flavors of Linux. Building specialized add-on software that interact with StorNext as a replication engine is a key responsibility for this position.
We are in specific need of someone who has used APIs within a C++ application to communicate to mysql to manipulate numerous records and tables within multiple mysql databases. We have written a layer on top of ODBC that communicates to the database. The engineer hired would be partially responsible for helping to improve on those interfaces and resolve various mysql issues. We also do not have a mysql admin who could help guide us with various database issues and having that experience is extremely helpful. On top of this, our applications that are written communicate with SCSI tape devices.
Specific duties include but are not limited to
• Development and maintenance of products and functionality for interacting with Managed File Systems.
• Investigating and resolving issues in existing products related application workflows.
• Helping to resolve issues that exists in our application using mysql. In particular using specific ODBC apis that communicate to the mysql database.
• Fixing issues StorNext Storage Manager Application Software using C & C++.
• Improving on existing logic and layers that communicate to mysql database.
• Aiding in the resolution of various mysql issues.
• Fixing issues StorNext scripts using Perl
• Development of new features in StorNext Storage Manager software using C++.
• Development of features taking advantage of LTO tape devices
• Working with customers and support team to resolve customer issues.
Job Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of combined education and experience including 2+ year of C++ and Perl experience. Must be recent experience.
• Experience with Linux shell and/or Perl programming.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with mysql and like databases.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with APIs that communicate to mysql databases. Must be recent experience.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills.
Desired Skills
• Knowledge of and experience with file system technology.
• Experience with mariadb ODBC connector
• Interfaces with special purpose APIs and web services required.
• Experience with SVN
• Experience with Bugzilla
