Middle/Senior Python Developer (offline)

KIVU Technologies is an innovative software for data collection and analysis, designed primarily for security purposes: counter-terrorism & crime investigation. We are developing an innovative high-speed platform that combines social graph analysis and big-data processing with easy and intuitive interactive data representation.

Together with a team, you will be working on the design, development and maintenance of KIVU's crawler components. You will closely work together with KIVU's growing core team in Kiev and Vienna. Interfacing with other team members you will make use of Confluence and Google Docs for documentation. Development is managed and synchronized with help of the SCRUM process.

Must Haves:
3+ yrs of Python programming experience;
Basic understanding of Apache Kafka (or the skill to learn up on new technologies fast);
Understanding of Java;
Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues with distributed crawling at scale;
Skilled in working with Unix/Linux (command line);
Ready to work with Python 3.x;
Good understanding of HTML and JavaScript;
Good understanding of the HTTP(s) protocols.

Nice to Have:


Understanding of concurrency and locking;
Good understanding of distributed systems;
Understanding of Apache Kafka;
Proficient with Github (alternatively svn or bitbucket and we will re-train you);
Understanding of RESTful web services/APIs.
