The purpose of the role is to develop and maintain products (applications, systems, and solutions). Includes all development and operations activities (requirement analysis, architecture design, system design, hardware design, software design, integration, verification, simulations, tools design, product documentation, monitoring, support and managing operations).
The DevOps Engineer works closely with business to understand stakeholder requirements and is involved in the full lifecycle of a product.
The Customer is a service provider delivering world-class lab infrastructure, network and hardware services.
Project
Join our team to take up overall accountability for service and hardware provisioning related to test environment and lab operations and in accordance to specified end user agreements. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for transforming ways of working from time and material to service-based internal deliveries.
You will work in the following Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) areas:
β Storage
β Compute
β Network
β Co-location of server and telecom equipment
β Network security
β General datacenter supporting infrastructure, such as DNS, monitoring, etc.
β Most tasks in this position will relate to enabling and facilitating development of infrastructure and network products, such as 5G. This means that the service design is usually more complex than regular cloud offerings due to specific requirements.
Responsibilities
β Perform continuous analysis of requirements to understand the impact of the existing product
β Analyze requirements to understand how introduction of new features/functions can impact the existing product and the test scope
β Analyze system wide impacts of the requirements on architecture
β Design products and services: program software modules/blocks; design, components, modules
β Test the product, including prototyping, test tool design, test environment design, test result analysis, test analysis/design
β Integrate software, hardware modules: define, follow, and manage an integration plan
β Configuration management; handle code/product versions and revision management systems
β Manage third party products as part of the design solution
β Reproduce faults from business sites in own lab environment, including configuring business configurations
β Execute installation, upgrade, and/or configuration of a node
β Provide support to the deployment project being executed by regions and be ready to work with other vendors
β Get involved, participate, and drive major IT incidents when needed, work closely with an IT Escalation Manager
β Cultivate relationships for creating an optimal support flow
Requirements
β More than 4 years of Systems Administration Experience (Linux & Windows)
β 3+ years of experience with Windows Servers OS
β 2+ years of experience with Linux
β 2+ years of experience with Docker
β At least 2 years managing build, deploy, and release cycles with Jenkins
β Good knowledge in Python (PowerShell or Bash will be a plus)
β Experience with automation of manual processes or system administration tasks through code
β A solid grasp of networking fundamentals, preferably including hands-on experience with load balancers, switches, routers, etc.
β Strong ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and root out inefficiencies
β BS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
β At least Intermediate level of English
